After School
Adventure
Program

Let your child unwind in the great outdoors — and indoors when they need it.
Our Forest School after-school program for kids ages 4–10 offers hands-on, nature-based experiences for kids attending school in Dartmouth, Cole Harbour, Lawrencetown, and the surrounding community. From building shelters to tracking wildlife, children gain real-world skills, confidence, and a deep connection to nature.

Now a hybrid model. We balance outdoor exploration with cozy indoor days. While most days are spent exploring nature, we also offer cozy indoor days when kids just want to relax inside, do homework, or enjoy other create activities. Our program offers students to pick which days they want to play outside, and which days they want to be indoors. It’s the best of both worlds: outdoor adventure and indoor comfort — fresh air when they want it, downtime when they need it.

Kids will gain hands-on wilderness survival skills and knowledge like:
-
Shelter-making and knot-tying – Kids learn to build weatherproof shelters and master essential knots used in survival situations.
-
Fire-building techniques, shelter-making, and knot-tying
-
Snowshoe-making, toboggan crafting, igloo & snow-fort building
-
Wildlife tracking, plant and animal identification, and foraging
-
Nature-inspired arts and crafts using foraged materials
Play & Exploration
-
Today’s kids spend more time indoors than ever before-often sitting, watching, or clicking. Our program flips that script with unstructured outdoor play that sparks creativity, builds confidence, and encourages movement.
-
Unstructured play in nature - Letting kids be kids: climbing, digging, building, and imagining in the great outdoors.
-
Seasonal adventures & scavenger hunts – From muddy spring trails to snowy winter paths, every day is a new discovery.
-
Teamwork & outdoor challenges – Foster resilience, collaboration, and problem-solving through fun group activities and nature-based games.
